Nursery - Butterflies

Welcome to the Butterflies!

Picture 1

Welcome to the Butterflies page!

We have a new 'Investors in Pupils' target for this half term! We would like the children to keep our classroom tidy. We have a class motto to help the children with this. It is "Choose it, use it, put it away."

We will be having a celebration at the end of the half term for all the children who manage to reach the target!

Topic

This term our topic is "Houses and homes" we will be reading at the story of the three little pigs. We will also be looking at Houses and homes in Other countries aswell as the UK. During this half term the children will have access to activities relating to our topic as part of the continuous provision within the nursery.

In maths we will be counting and looking at measuring.

We will also be learning lots of rhymes – this is especially useful as children learn to read.  The older children will be focusing on developing their physical skills to hold a pencil and write their names.

Our Curriculum

In the Foundation Stage, your child's learning is guided by the statutory requirements of the EYFS. This is composed of 7 areas of learning.

Prime areas are fundamental, work together and are moved through to support development in all other areas. These are:

Personal, Social and Emotional Development

Communication and Language

Physical Development

The specific areas include essential skills and knowledge for children:

Literacy

Mathematics

Understanding the world

Expressive Arts and Design

Our Staff

The adults you may see in our Nursery unit include;

Miss Moon

Mrs Hampson

Miss Price

Mrs Marshall

Clothing

Children will be taking part in indoor and outdoor activities which may sometimes mean they get dirty. If you feel your child may need a change of clothes you can always leave a spare set on their peg.

As the weather is so unpredictable but we do still go outside please make sure that children are dressed in appropriate outdoor clothing (coats, hats etc.). We have a small selection of wellies and waterproofs but not many so if you have any spare at home which you no longer need they would be greatly received.

Please make sure all uniform is labelled.
